Job Description:

We are looking for a dedicated Mail Services Associate to join our team in Houston, Texas. In this contract position, you will play a key role in ensuring smooth mailroom operations, including sorting, delivering, and managing mail within an office environment. This role requires strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to interact effectively with internal and external customers.

Job Responsibility:

  • Sort, organize, and distribute incoming mail and packages efficiently within the office
  • Deliver mail across various departments or locations twice daily while maintaining a moderate walking pace
  • Operate standard office equipment and software, including Microsoft Outlook, Excel, Word, and Teams
  • Provide courteous and detail-oriented customer service to address mail-related inquiries
  • Assist with lifting, pushing, or pulling packages weighing 20 pounds regularly and up to 50 pounds as part of a team
  • Maintain cleanliness and orderliness within the mailroom to ensure a safe and efficient workspace
  • Collaborate with team members to streamline mailroom processes and ensure timely deliveries
  • Monitor and track mail deliveries to ensure accuracy and resolve any discrepancies
  • Follow established procedures for handling sensitive or confidential mail items
  • Support additional office tasks as needed to contribute to overall operational efficiency

Requirements:

  • Minimum of two years of experience working in a mailroom or similar office environment
  • High school diploma or equivalent education required
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook, and Teams
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to interact professionally with customers and colleagues
  • Physical capability to lift, push, pull, and carry packages weighing up to 50 pounds
  • Comfortable walking at a moderate pace for extended periods during mail deliveries
  • Demonstrated organizational skills and attention to detail in handling mail and packages
  • Ability to work onsite five days a week and commit to the duration of the contract
