Job Description:

To set up and operate the moulder and all tool room equipment for the production and packaging of machined timber goods, taking the utmost care to ensure all goods produced are of the highest standard.

Job Responsibility:

  • Work effectively as part of a team promoting the company’s vision, values and goals at all times
  • Build effective relationships with colleagues and other departments by delivering a professional prompt and effective service
  • Assist with the operation of all woodworking machinery and handling equipment as directed by the Mill Supervisor including saws, moulder, cross cuts, kindling machine, grip line and baler as required
  • Accurately process and handle timber products in line with the health and safety procedures and company policy
  • Ability to operate all machinery in line with safe systems of work
  • Carry out daily maintenance tasks as required reporting any defects to management
  • Update the LAP (Local Authority Plan) as and when required
  • Use plant to safely transport timber for storage if required and trained
  • Ensure all relevant documentation is in place prior to departure in order that goods can be tracked

Requirements:

  • Ability to pay high attention to Health and Safety processes and procedures (essential)
  • Product knowledge (preferred)
  • Forklift licence (preferred)
  • Grinding certificate (preferred)
