Machinist

• Set up and operate various CNC machines
• Set up and adjust fixtures, cutting tools, and make tooling offsets on machines
• Utilize blueprint specifications or sample part to determine dimensions and tolerances of finished work piece and setup requirements
• Verifies conformance of finished workpiece to specifications via first piece inspection, automated where applicable
• Measure mark, and scribe dimensions and reference points on material or work piece as guides for subsequent machining as required
• Start and observe machine operation to detect malfunctions or out-of-tolerance machining and adjusts machine controls or control media as required
• Use hand-help precision instruments to verify quality: CMM(s), Hommell, Profilometer, micrometers, calipers, and other gauge types
• Adjust as necessary to maintain quality parts within control limits for SPC
• Interpret departmental automated measurement reports and confer with technical team members and leadership to resolve machining issues
• Cleaning and organizing of work areas (5S standards)
• Read and understand internal procedures and policies
• Manual recovery of in cell robotics, move to home position, etc
• Transport material as required using proper handling methods
• Keep work area in orderly condition with respect to proper materials, tools, equipment, and personal belongings. (Includes cleaning of equipment, floors, tables, etc.)
• Maintain quality standards by following proper inspection procedures
• Understand and adhere to current health, safety, and environmental policies
• Understand and adhere to current quality and control policies
• Perform other duties as needed

• Completion of high school or equivalent
• Experience in fast paced industrial environment
• Requires one (1) year of experience as a Machinist I or equivalent experience
• Completion of technical training in Machining or Mechanics preferred
• Basic and advanced math skills (decimals, addition, subtraction, fractions. ratios, proportions)
• Attendance on the job is essential
• Must be able to work in a team environment
• Must be able to follow instructions, safety rules and regulations

Geometry and trigonometry is a plus
