This is where my hands make life-sustaining products. Responsible for the proper performance and quality of a fairly wide range of operations in the department. Must be able to set-up and operate a variety of machinery including, but not limited to, single and multi-spindle screw machines, lathes, machine centers, tube benders, press brakes, laser, tube cutter, mechanical presses, turret press, shear and saws. May be asked to perform programming tasks. May also perform operations on drill presses, sander, tumbler, etc.
Job Responsibility:
Ensure all necessary materials are on hand and equipment is in order
Mount, position, and adjust various cutting tools, adapters, collets, pushers, cams, threading devices and other tooling
Set proper feeds and speeds to ensure quality part production
Program CNC machinery, design and formulate programs producing parts per blueprint specifications
Create and troubleshoot programs, make necessary adjustments
Use correct job procedures/instructions, drawings, specifications, sequence of operations, SPC, document quality checks
Assist supervisor to meet schedules, including scheduling, preparing and moving material, rework
Perform preventative maintenance checks
Timely and accurate labor reporting
Participate in team activities and problem solving
Follow all processes and procedures, document/chart production data
Assist other team members
Evaluate defective material and tooling, advise and recommend alternatives
Maintain clean, orderly, and safe work area
Follow safety regulations
Requirements:
Must pass Machine Set-Up Test
May be required to have tow motor license
High School Diploma or (GED) General Education Degree
