Are you a Certified Machinist - Millwright looking for a career that will provide schedule stability, competitive pay with pension & benefits, and the ability to be home every night? West Fraser Grande Prairie OSB has what you are looking for - without the grind of constant travel and schedule uncertainty. Reporting to the Maintenance Team Leader, the Certified Machinist - Millwright is responsible to safely make parts to exacting standards ensuring quality and precision.

Job Responsibility:

  • Demonstrate unwavering commitment towards completing all tasks safely
  • Read & interpret blueprints and perform precise machining operations
  • Fabricate & repair parts using lathe, milling machine, drill press, and other shop equipment to exacting standards and tight tolerances by verifying dimensions using precision measuring instruments
  • Inspect & test completed projects to ensure meeting accuracy & quality standards
  • Trouble shoot & problem solve items impacting process equipment
  • Active involvement with predictive & preventative maintenance
  • Effectively complete safety and mechanical inspections
  • Utilize your knowledge & skill to recognize opportunities for improvement
  • Collaborate with other trades in a team environment to improve safety, reliability and process efficiency

Requirements:

  • Machinist and Millwright Certifications
  • 3+ Years of experience in an industrial / manufacturing environment using machining equipment
  • Knowledge of metal properties, machining methods, and shop mathematics
  • numerical ability to compute dimensions
  • tapers, cutting angles, tool settings, feed rates and machine speeds
  • Organizational and planning skills to prioritize daily / weekly tasks
  • Solid communication and interpersonal skills to support effective team dynamics
  • Ability to safely work independently with limited supervision while also being part of the bigger team
