Job Description

The Machinist III is an experienced professional responsible for setting up, operating, and optimizing CNC lathes, CNC mills, and 5-axis CNC mills. This role focuses on manufacturing complex, high-precision components used in advanced turbomachinery and aerospace applications, ensuring adherence to quality standards and efficient production schedules. The Machinist III works with minimal supervision and serves as a resource for mentoring and training less experienced machinists.

Job Responsibility

  • Read and interpret complex blueprints, engineering drawings, and GD&T specifications
  • Set up, operate, and optimize CNC lathes, CNC mills, and 5-axis CNC mills to produce precision parts
  • Select and set up tooling and fixturing based on part requirements and process documentation
  • Prove out new setups and validate machining processes, making adjustments as needed to ensure quality and efficiency
  • Inspect finished parts using precision measuring instruments such as micrometers, calipers, height gauges, etc.
  • Assist in training and mentoring Machinist I and II team members
  • Perform routine maintenance and ensure safe operation of all machinery
  • Document job details, inspection results, and process changes accurately in accordance with ISO and company standards
  • Participate in continuous improvement initiatives and contribute ideas to optimize machining processes

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED required
  • technical training or certification preferred
  • Minimum of 5 years of CNC machining experience, including setup and operation of complex parts
  • Must be able to stand for extended periods and safely lift up to 50 pounds
  • Must be a U.S. citizen or permanent resident due to export-controlled program requirements
