The Machinist II is responsible for interpreting prints and drawings, setting up and operating CNC lathes, CNC mills, and 5-axis CNC mills, and inspecting parts to ensure they meet all specifications. This role focuses on producing high-quality parts by performing setups, selecting tooling, and using precision measuring equipment. The Machinist II works with minimal supervision and demonstrates a solid understanding of CNC machining practices.
Job Responsibility:
Read and interpret blueprints, sketches, and/or models to understand part specifications and tolerances
Select appropriate tools and fixtures, and set up CNC machines according to process documentation
Set up and operate CNC lathes and/or 5-axis CNC mills to produce complex parts to tight tolerances
Inspect finished parts using precision measuring instruments such as micrometers, calipers, and height gauges to verify conformance to specifications
Identify and resolve machining issues during setups and production runs to maintain part quality and meet deadlines
Perform routine machine maintenance tasks and ensure equipment is used safely and properly
Record job information accurately, including time tracking and inspection results, in accordance with ISO documentation requirements
Follow all safety guidelines and maintain a clean and organized work area
Requirements:

Dependable and able to follow established procedures consistently
Strong blueprint reading and interpretation skills
Proficient in selecting tooling and setting up fixturing

Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
Basic computer skills
Education: High school diploma or GED required
technical school training preferred
Experience: 3 years of CNC machining experience preferred
Must be able to stand for extended periods and safely lift up to 50 pounds
Must be a U.S. citizen or permanent resident due to export-controlled program requirements
