Job Description

The Machinist I is an entry-level role responsible for assisting with the setup and operation of CNC machines, performing basic machining tasks, and supporting experienced machinists as needed. This position is designed to help individuals develop skills in CNC machining through on-the-job training. The Machinist I works under close supervision and is expected to follow detailed instructions and safety guidelines.

Job Responsibility

  • Assist in setting up and operating CNC lathes, CNC mills, and 5-axis CNC mills
  • Support experienced machinists with part loading and unloading, material handling, and general shop tasks
  • Perform basic measurements and visual inspections to verify part quality
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area, including cleaning machines and work surfaces
  • Follow detailed work instructions and process documentation accurately
  • Assist with routine machine maintenance and basic troubleshooting as directed
  • Record job information and inspection results as required
  • Follow all safety guidelines and wear required personal protective equipment at all times

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED required
  • No previous machining experience required

  • Must be able to stand for extended periods and safely lift up to 50 pounds
  • Must be a U.S. citizen or permanent resident due to export-controlled program requirements
