Requirements

Experience leading a team in a machining/CNC environment (foreman, team leader, leading hand, or similar)
Trade qualification in Toolmaking/Machining (Cert III/IV or equivalent experience)
Sound working knowledge of CNC machining (e.g., multi‑axis milling/turning, EDM fundamentals), set‑ups, and safe operation
Ability to read technical drawings and apply GD&T in practical checks
Strong WHS knowledge
confident running toolbox talks and documenting hazards/incidents
Clear communicator with practical problem solving
Basic digital skills for job tracking and reporting

Job Responsibility

Lead daily CNC shop‑floor operations with a strong safety first mindset
Conduct toolbox talks and enforce SWMS and operating procedures
Allocate work to machinists and operators based on the issued plan and machine availability, providing clear instructions and priorities
Coach and support team members on set‑ups, safe operation, and in‑process checks
Monitor job progress, update job progress boards, and escalate delays or issues promptly
Ensure adherence to work instructions, drawings, and quality standards (GD&T)
Coordinate first‑Quality Assurance (QA) checks and hold work if quality risks arise
Maintain 6S standards, housekeeping, and safe walkways across CNC areas
Oversee routine equipment maintenance and log machine faults for service
Manage tooling and consumable inventory
