Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Machine Setup Technician to support CNC mills and lathes on 2nd shift. This role is responsible for setting up, adjusting, and preparing machines for production runs while ensuring quality, accuracy, and efficiency.

Job Responsibility

  • Set up CNC mills and lathes according to job specifications, blueprints, and work orders
  • Install tooling, fixtures, and materials needed for each job
  • Perform machine offsets, program loading, and minor edits as needed
  • Verify part dimensions using calipers, micrometers, gauges, and other precision measuring tools
  • Troubleshoot setup issues and ensure machines are running efficiently
  • Conduct first-piece inspections and ensure proper documentation
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area
  • Follow safety procedures and company quality standards
  • Communicate with operators and supervisors regarding job status and issues

Requirements

  • 2+ years of CNC machine setup experience (mills and/or lathes)
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings
  • Strong understanding of machining processes, tooling, and measurement tools
  • Ability to make minor program adjustments at the machine
  • Good problem-solving and troubleshooting skills
  • Strong attention to detail
