Job Responsibility:
Expertly set up, program, and operate both CNC and manual brake press machines to precisely form and bend a variety of metal parts
Select, install, and accurately align the correct tooling, dies, and gauges required to meet complex job specifications
Monitor production runs and make on-the-fly, precise adjustments to machine settings (e.g., pressure, tonnage, back gauge, bend angle) to ensure part quality, consistency, and adherence to tight tolerances
Read, interpret, and work strictly from detailed engineering blueprints, technical drawings, and work orders to determine critical project specifications and requirements
Conduct rigorous quality control inspections on all finished components using precision measuring instruments (e.g., calipers, micrometers, protractors, squares) to verify dimensions against exact tolerance requirements
Proactively identify, diagnose, and resolve technical issues related to machinery, tooling, or production processes to minimize downtime and optimize operational efficiency
Perform routine and preventative maintenance, cleaning, and light repair on the brake press and associated equipment to ensure optimal performance, longevity, and a safe operating condition
Strictly adhere to all company and industry safety protocols and procedures, maintaining a clean, organized, and safe working environment
Safely and efficiently handle, stage, and store raw materials and finished components
Accurately maintain production logs, quality control reports, and other required documentation
Requirements:
High school diploma or equivalent is required
Experience operating a brake press machine in a manufacturing setting
A valid driver's license and access to a reliable vehicle are mandatory, as the location is not accessible by public transportation
Ability to lift and move materials weighing up to 50 lbs
Strong commitment to workplace safety and a proven safety record
Must be legally entitled to work in Canada
