Reporting to the Production Supervisor, the Machine Operator is responsible for providing the customer with the highest quality product in an efficient and cost-effective manner. The Machine Operator is also responsible for monitoring and operating machinery on the production lines to comply with the established standard operating practices for each customer.
Job Responsibility:
Adhere to all health and safety policies/procedures, Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs) and wear the required personal protective equipment (PPE)
Responsible to adhere to food quality and food safety as per the standard(s)
Ability to read, understand, and adhere to a production manufacturing schedule and communicate issues
Maintain production flow on machinery by monitoring downstream and upstream issues
Follow all Quality Assurance and Production line standard operating procedures
Follow standard operating procedures to perform equipment changeovers
Record all necessary information for production and quality records
Responsible for performing equipment and general sanitation
Work closely with all departments to improve quality, increase efficiencies, and reduce waste
Ability to understand visual and auditory cues to identify production or machine related issues
Perform minor machine maintenance
Perform any other duties assigned by leadership
Requirements:
Experience in a high-speed beverage production environment, beverage production experience preferred
Demonstrates the ability to gain a firm understanding of production machinery/forklifts, including an awareness of technical issues
Ability to work quickly and accurately under pressure
Adeptness in basic mathematical abilities
Skill in understanding and interpreting gauges, thermometers, and weight measurements
Formal training in areas such as WHIMIS, HACCP, Hygiene etc. preferred
Forklift certification may be required
High School Certification or equivalent
1-3 years relevant work experience in a manufacturing environment preferred
Nice to have:
