We are currently seeking a Machine Operator to join a thriving production team in Waterloo. This is a full-time, permanent day shift position, Monday to Friday from 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM as well as an afternoon shift opportunity Mon - Thursday 3:00 PM - 1:30 AM that includes a $2.00 shift premium. In this role, you will be more than just a number; you will be valued as an individual where your talent and hard work in manufacturing and logistics are recognized and rewarded. As a Machine Operator, you will be responsible for the set-up, operation, and general maintenance of specialized machinery used to fabricate laminates, papers, and films. Whether you are working with standard equipment or CNC machinery, your primary goal is to ensure that production processes run smoothly and efficiently. This role is perfect for a team player who is organized and possesses excellent written and oral communication skills. While previous experience as a Machine Operator or CNC operator is considered a strong asset, we are happy to provide comprehensive training for the right candidate who demonstrates mechanical aptitude and a willingness to learn within the manufacturing and logistics sector.
Job Responsibility:
Operate and monitor machines and CNC equipment according to precise technical specifications
Set up and adjust machine parameters for optimal performance, including performing minor programming tasks
Conduct regular quality control inspections and quality assurance checks to ensure products meet high standards
Perform general maintenance and troubleshooting on equipment to minimize production downtime
Complete all necessary work order paperwork and production logs accurately and on time
Handle the secure packaging and labeling of finished products for shipment
Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area in compliance with all manufacturing and logistics safety protocols
Collaborate with team members and supervisors to identify and implement process improvements
Requirements:
High school diploma or equivalent
Proven dependability and a strong "team player" attitude
Ability to stand for long periods and perform tasks requiring manual dexterity
Familiarity with basic hand tools and measuring instruments for quality control
Commitment to maintaining a clean and safe working environment
Legal authorization to work in Canada
Nice to have:
Previous experience as a Machine Operator, CNC operator, or in a similar production role
