Operate a simple line/machine/palletizer. Operating a production line for paper towel and tissue products. Products will be manufactured from raw material form to finished goods form according to fixed specifications and Standard Operating Procedures. As member of the operations team the Operator is responsible for the performance, safety and quality aspects of the production line(s).
Job Responsibility:
Work within Essity safety standards with an emphasis on keeping coworkers and yourself safe
Ensure that assigned machine is kept running and is producing quality products
Recognize defect and quality issues and secure the required quality level of the final products
Lead changeovers and other technical activities as needed
Order, prepare and install raw materials on the machine according to Standard Operating Procedures
Maintain an adequate communication flow with previous shift and post shift workers regarding performance of machine
Maintain optimal housekeeping in the assigned work area during shift and shift transitions
Complete all required documentation and data files needed for tracking purposes
Utilize Levels Program to increase technical skills and knowledge as part of the normal job progression
Requirements:
HS Diploma or GED
Must be 18 years of age or older
Must be able to pass a background check and drug test
Previous manufacturing experience - preferred
Ability to work a rotating or "swing shift" schedule is mandatory
Must be able to stand on concrete floors 12 hours per day
Must be able to bend, stoop, squat, kneel, reach, and twist
Must be able to lift, push, and pull 40-50 pounds
Must be able to safely move materials utilizing proper equipment which may include a forklift, crane, or hoist
Must be familiar with various hand tools and be able to read a tape measure down to the sixteenth of an inch
Must have basic computer skills
Must possess a high degree of attention to detail and be able to work in a fast paced, high quality manufacturing environment
Must be ready to work in a challenging environment, may be subjected to swings in temperature as manufacturing areas are not air conditioned
