Machine Operator

Programming, operating, and monitoring multiple machines to produce high-quality fins according to work order specifications

• Read and interpret detailed work order instructions
• Load raw aluminum material onto machines using a chain hoist
• Program and operate multiple machines simultaneously
• Use basic hand tools such as wrenches and hex keys to make machine adjustments
• Inspect product quality continuously throughout the process
• Label, document, and sort fins for the next step in production
• Perform preventive maintenance and basic troubleshooting on equipment
• Conduct tolerance checks as required by work instructions
• Meet daily and weekly production quotas as directed by the Lead or Supervisor
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe workspace
• Use basic computer skills to input production data, complete checklists, and follow electronic work instructions
• Promptly report any equipment or product issues to the Supervisor
• Follow all environmental and safety procedures as outlined in AKG’s Environmental Management System (EMS)
• Ability to stand (80%) and walk (20%) during the shift
• Must be able to bend, stoop, pull, push, twist, and turn
• Lift up to 50 lbs occasionally (approximately 15% of the time)
• Use of pallet jacks, chain hoists, and other standard shop equipment
