The Machine Operator 2 performs routine setup, operation, minor routine maintenance, preventative maintenance (PM), and troubleshooting of moderately complex/automated manufacturing equipment. They ensure consistent quality by inspecting in-process parts, removing defective products, and documenting all relevant quality, safety, and maintenance documents. They assist with root-cause analysis activities for process or product exceptions and monitor quality in accordance with statistical process or other control procedures.
Job Responsibility:
Plan, perform, and make decisions regarding the setup and operations of a variety of production equipment, including automated machine processes and controls
Perform routine assembly-line production functions of filling, packing, assembling, labeling, and inspecting
Use independent judgment in troubleshooting and problem-solving under general supervision
Perform clean-up functions in sterilized areas
Identify the need for minor equipment repairs
Analyze and evaluate charts, follow simple diagrams, testing, and inspecting procedures
Assist with root-cause analysis activities for process or product exceptions
Monitor quality in accordance with statistical process or other control procedures
Ensure accurate documentation of all relevant quality, safety, and maintenance documents
Identify, troubleshoot, and resolve basic issues associated with machine performance and/or product quality
Follow established procedures according to Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP)
Adhere to all BD housekeeping and safety policies and procedures
Work overtime as required to meet BD business requirements
Perform other duties as required
Requirements:
High school diploma with 2 years of manufacturing experience in a regulated environment (FDA)
Relevant manufacturing experience in Food, Pharma, and Industrial manufacturing preferred
AA technical degree with 0 years' experience
Ability to work effectively in a team setting and communicate effectively across the department
Strong attention to detail
Punctuality to ensure production continuity
Ability to work on semi-routine assignments and recognize deviations from specifications
Ability to operate independently within the constraints of approved process-related documentation
Proficient in English with the ability to read, write, analyze/evaluate charts, follow simple diagrams, and perform basic arithmetic
Basic proficiency with PCs (Personal Computers) and basic use of a Windows environment
