The permanent Machine Operator Technician will be responsible for interpreting complex engineering drawings and fabrication details to design, build, and modify jigs and fixtures, ensuring seamless, repeatable production cycles. Working within a state-of-the-art manufacturing & logistics environment, the successful Machine Operator Technician will perform critical first-piece setups and routine adjustments on a variety of specialized machinery. This position requires strong technical acumen, exceptional problem-solving abilities, and a commitment to maintaining rigorous safety and quality standards on the production floor. As this position is located in Grimsby, Ontario, the primary language of operations is English. However, clear communication and teamwork within our diverse manufacturing & logistics team are highly valued to maintain an efficient and safe working environment.
Job Responsibility
Read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and fabrication details to determine precise product specifications
Set up, calibrate, and safely operate industrial saws, drill presses, and rolling machines according to standard operating procedures
Perform crucial first-piece setups, test runs, and structural adjustments before initiating full-scale production runs
Monitor machine performance during operation, making real-time adjustments to maintain strict quality tolerances
Conduct routine preventive maintenance on machinery, jigs, and tools within the manufacturing & logistics facility
Collaborate with the quality assurance and engineering teams to troubleshoot equipment malfunctions and resolve production variances
Maintain a clean, organized, and safe workspace adhering to all occupational health and safety guidelines
Requirements
Minimum of 2 to 3 years of hands-on experience as a Machine Operator Technician or in a highly similar manufacturing setup role
Demonstrated, practical experience setting up and operating industrial saws, drill presses, and material rollers
Solid background in fixture design, jig modification, and interpreting blueprint drawings
Ability to perform physical tasks required by the role, including lifting materials and standing for extended production shifts
High school diploma or equivalent
Full flexibility and commitment to working full-time hours on-site at the Grimsby, Ontario facility
Nice to have
Technical certificate or apprenticeship in machining, manufacturing, or fabrication
