Job Description

We are looking for a reliable Press and Shear Machine Operator for a busy manufacturing facility in Calgary. You will set up and run press brake and shear machines to precisely cut and shape metal parts. Training Schedule: Training will take place during either the morning or afternoon shift. Regular Schedule: The primary schedule consists of 12-hour shifts on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday from 1:30 PM to 2:00 AM. Alternative Shifts: Morning Shift: Monday to Friday, 5:00 AM – 1:30 PM; Afternoon Shift: Monday to Thursday, 1:30 PM – 11:00 PM (10-hour shifts).

Job Responsibility

  • Launch, operate, and monitor production machinery to meet daily output targets
  • Conduct frequent quality checks to ensure every part meets strict standards
  • Troubleshoot minor mechanical hitches to keep the line moving smoothly
  • Document production wins, including output counts and machine run-times
  • Maintain a safe, organized workspace by following all site-specific protocols
  • Read blueprints and technical drawings to ensure parts are made to exact specs
  • Inspect finished products to ensure they meet quality standards
  • Follow all safety rules and workplace procedures at all times
  • Keep your work area clean and organized
  • Work with the team to hit daily production targets

Requirements

  • Experience operating press brakes and/or shear equipment
  • Strong ability to read blueprints and measure accurately
  • Reliable, detail-oriented, and safety-conscious
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and stand for long periods
  • Prior experience operating machinery in a manufacturing setting
  • A mechanical mindset and comfort using basic tools or interfaces
  • The physical stamina to handle long shifts and lift up to 50 lbs as needed
