Job Description:

At Vitaco, our Powder Plant plays a critical role in producing high‑quality nutrition products trusted across New Zealand and beyond. We’re currently seeking reliable Machine Operators to join our Powder Plant manufacturing team at our East Tamaki site. Whether you’re experienced in powder or dairy manufacturing or looking to build a long‑term career in a highly regulated production environment, we’ll provide the training, structure, and support to help you succeed. As a Machine Operator in our Powder Plant, you’ll be responsible for operating and monitoring processing and packaging equipment to ensure powder products are manufactured safely, efficiently, and to strict quality standards. You’ll work within a highly structured, hygiene‑focused environment and be part of a supportive team committed to safety, quality, and continuous improvement.

Job Responsibility:

  • Operating and monitoring powder processing or packing machinery
  • Completing quality checks and accurately recording production data
  • Handling raw materials and finished powders in line with GMP and hygiene standards
  • Always following Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and safety requirements
  • Maintaining housekeeping standards to prevent contamination risks
  • Working collaboratively with your team to meet daily production targets

Requirements:

  • Experience in a powder, dairy, food, or pharmaceutical manufacturing environment (preferred)
  • Strong awareness of GMP, hygiene, and safety requirements
  • Good attention to detail and ability to follow set processes
  • Physically fit and able to lift 25kg on a reasonably frequent basis
  • Reliability and flexibility to work rostered shifts
  • A positive, team-focused mindset

  • Determine if work schedules are being met, supervise necessary adjustments or repairs to resume and maintain production standards and meet all cycle times without sacrificing production quality
  • Ensure correct pigments and powders are in mixers and are being used for parts produced
  • Cooperate and communicate with Quality Control department to maintain standards of quality
  • Manage production to optimize machine efficiency and minimize rejections
  • Ensure safe working conditions for all employees and that the plant is clean and ready for the next shift to start without delay
  • Supervise, evaluate, and ensure all department personnel are aware of and comply with Company policies and standards
