The Machine Operator operates a variety of machinery used in the nutraceutical industry. Responsibilities may include setup, tear-down, operating, cleaning and troubleshooting machines. The job holder is required to take instruction, work independently or as part of a team to ensure both the quality and quantity of manufactured products.
Job Responsibility:
Conduct pre-operational checks on equipment
Monitor the machine during operation and perform in-process checks, making adjustments as necessary
Perform troubleshooting tasks during production
Operate machinery (such as blenders, tableting/encapsulation/coating machines and mobile equipment)
Dissemble, clean, sanitize, assemble machine and auxiliary equipment
Clean rooms
Perform general maintenance of machinery, including care of machine parts and tooling
Requirements:
A minimum two years of continuous manufacturing experience from a single company
Mechanical experience, safely operating and setting up machines while using a diverse selection of hand tools
Demonstrated ability to work safely in a physically demanding environment where lifting up to 50 lbs. is routinely required
Flexibility to work the morning shift during the first two months of employment to receive hands-on training with designated trainers
No concerns wearing all required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), including respirators, hairnets, CSA-approved safety shoes, and company-provided work attire
A keen focus on the little things and an understanding of the importance of attention to detail
Must be clean-shaven (no facial hair) to ensure a proper respirator fit and to comply with safety protocols, including WorkSafeBC regulations
