Requirements

Ability to read tape measure
Requires constant standing and walking (up to 10 hours per day)
Repetitive use of both hands (up to 10 hours per day)
Requires repetitive twisting
Repetitive reaching at and above shoulder level and bending at the waist
Working with water soluble coolant
An awareness of exposed cuttings and moving parts on the machine
Lifting up to 30 lbs.

Job Responsibility

Operates machines that finish the ends of pipes
Responsible for producing a quality product
Setting machines properly for the right diameter and length of pipe
Loading the machines with pieces of pipe (cut blanks)
May be responsible for running multiple machines
Maintaining a clean and safe machine and work area
Performing required maintenance checks
Keeping accurate production records in the computer planning system
Meeting established production standards.

Job Responsibility

Operate, maintain and set up a variety of welding machines (usage and settings) as well as a variety of handheld tools on a daily basis
Obtain various certifications for GTAW welding using a variety of metals (CUNI, Stainless Steel, Carbon Steel, Aluminum) with different fit-up requirements (Buttweld/Socket Weld) in various positions (6G/6G restricted, 4F and 5F)
Perform GTAW welding with the use of a hand remote in various settings/positions in the shop and on the vessels
Conduct pre-visual NDT inspections prior to completion of work to minimize rework/pickups found by QA and operational testing
Assist in helping other mechanics with different job task when not actively welding
Work a variety of shifts (1st shift 6:00am to 4:30pm, 2nd shift 4:00pm to 2:30am) and weekends to support the needs of the shipyard

Removing debris and/or mixed parts from baskets before they are sent to the TTX system
Adjusting number of passes on vibratory conveyor as needed
Loading/Unloading manually loaded baskets/racks from Zone 9
Communicating unfamiliar issues to supervisor/engineering/maintenance staff
Clearing faults on TTX system: Clearing hoist faults and jogging them as needed to clear certain issues
Clearing conveyor faults in the oven and communicating unfamiliar oven sequencing issues to supervisor/engineering/maintenance staff
Communicating unfamiliar faults to supervisor/engineering/maintenance staff
Taking notes accurately throughout the shift to document any downtime on either system. Fill out and submit daily clerk checklist sheet
