Position Overview: Tacker 1 uses a tacking machine to attach rings or strobel to fabric shades, ensuring accuracy and quality. Support production goals while maintaining safety and efficiency in a fast-paced team environment.
Job Responsibility:
Receive prepped and marked fabric from Flat Prep and review work tickets for special instructions
Operate a tacking machine to attach rings or strobel to fabric shades accurately
Ensure all work is completed according to quality standards and specifications
Follow safety procedures, including the use of personal protective equipment and reporting unsafe conditions
Maintain a clean and organized work area, including proper storage of tools and equipment
Assist with lifting and handling fabrics safely, asking for help when needed
Communicate effectively with supervisors and team members to address questions or issues
Perform other duties as assigned to support production workflow
Requirements:
High school graduate or equivalent
Experience with sewing or operating industrial sewing machines
Ability to read and use a tape measure accurately
General knowledge of fabrics and production processes
Strong attention to detail and accuracy with names, numbers, and spelling
Capable of standing for extended periods and lifting continuously
Ability to follow written and verbal instructions
Safety-conscious, with knowledge of workplace safety rules and use of PPE
Physically able to perform repetitive hand and wrist motions
Team player with good communication and organizational skills
