Machine Operator II tends to duties for bag making including but not limited to staging packing containers, inspecting product, and packing to ship. Machine Operator III will serve as backup to this position.
Job Responsibility:
Complete all tasks in the Packaging Associate Level
Understand the procedure for bad material and can safely & properly cut down bad material
Properly move perf bed
Correctly identify perf blades and change when necessary
Understand the procedure for rotating or changing slitter blade and can safely & properly rotate or change slitter blade
Identify the correct strip, spout, & seal pad for machine(s)
Change strip, spout, & seal pads
Perform ABM cold start up procedures & plant shut down procedures
Adhere to Quality plan and specifications
Accurately complete RTA (Real Time Audit)
Interpret quality data, knowing when to make changes
Perform AM (Autonomous Maintenance) inspections
Rotate/change strip skis
Perform autopack troubleshooting
Enter work orders into the work order system
Lead basic changeovers and participate in complex changeovers
Accurately complete paperwork per SQF (Safe Quality Food) and policy guidelines
Understand the Autonomous Maintenance (AM) process and actively participate in the AM process
Adequately complete Hold tickets
Audit bins in the Hold Area
Use barcoding system (Virtual Client)
Understand and follow FIFO (First In First Out)
Enter data into DAS and Excel
Participate in Pre-PM (Preventative Maintenance) meetings
Actively participate in Safety, Quality, 5S, and Autonomous Maintenance (AM) initiatives based on the plant goals and requirements

Requirements:
High school diploma or G.E.D required
Ability to work all shifts and perform overtime
Previous experience in bag making preferred
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, procedure manuals, and Power Point presentations
Basic skill knowledge and understanding of Microsoft Word and Excel, and Virtual Client to perform effectively in daily activities
Ability to perform visual inspection process and successfully read and apply technical material including print specifications
Must be able to move and/or lift up to 50 pounds occasionally
Frequently standing, walking and sitting
Frequently required the use of hands to finger, feel, reach or handle machinery
Frequently bend, stoop and reach
