Right now, we need to strengthen our Software team team with a Machine Learning DSP Engineer who will focus on developing audio algorithms using machine learning techniques and deploying cutting-edge ML solutions to embedded platforms.

Job Responsibility:

  • Write and maintain cross-platform C libraries for audio processing across Marshall's product range
  • optimize existing ML technologies for deployment on Marshall's hardware
  • Research next-generation ML techniques to keep Marshall at the cutting edge
  • train models on Marshall's exclusive back catalogue
  • Support specification and implementation of next-generation products for guitar players
  • work on Proof of Concept (PoC) projects
  • Conduct code reviews
  • maintain documentation
  • provide support to the embedded and DSP team on non-ML tasks when needed

Requirements:

  • At least a couple of years developing and integrating DSP solutions for audio applications, particularly in guitar amplifiers or musical/audio products
  • Extensive provable experience with ML/AI solutions for audio through professional experience or a postgraduate degree
  • Solid expertise in DSP fundamentals and their practical application to audio effects and processing techniques
  • Strong coding skills in C or C++, with experience in Python or MATLAB for prototyping and testing
  • Professional experience with Git for source control, and ideally knowledge of embedded systems, guitar playing, or analogue electronics

  • Select, implement, and develop the most appropriate method for each problem, knowing when to apply deep learning techniques and when other methods are more effective
  • Enhance our internal deep learning and machine learning tools to boost team efficiency, introduce new model architectures and algorithmic techniques, and refine the codebase to encourage reusability where needed to enable rapid experimentation
  • Spread and improve our best practices to ensure algorithm implementations are user-friendly, well-documented, and thoroughly tested, including unit tests, comprehensive documentation, CI, and non-regression testing
