Job Description

A busy plastic manufacturing company in Edmonton is looking for a Machine Helper to join their team. This is a contract position with a strong potential for long-term extension and career growth. Start Date: Immediate (Must be able to start right away) Transportation: Must have a reliable vehicle Location: Edmonton, AB Shifts: Day Shift (7:00 AM – 3:30 PM) Pay Rate: $19.43 / hour

Job Responsibility

  • Assist machine operators with daily production tasks
  • Learn manufacturing processes and follow safety guidelines
  • Work closely with a welcoming team and an understanding supervisor
  • Following the required company SOPs, Procedures and Health & Safety Standards in order to maintain an efficient and safe working environment
  • Report problems or concerns with quality, processes, equipment to extrusion operator/team lead
  • Identify and support continuous improvement efforts with production team leader/ operators
  • Carrying out other associated duties as directed by Management and the Production Team Leader
  • Ensure that all materials are handled, sorted and used in accordance with Work Place Hazardous Materials Information Systems (WHIMIS)
  • Palletize all products as needed
  • Ensuring PPE is worn always necessary

Requirements

  • 6 months or more of experience in a manufacturing setting
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Good communication, analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Must be physically fit and able to lift 50lbs
  • Previous experience working in a manufacturing or factory environment
  • A strong willingness to learn, take direction, and assist others
  • Reliability for a 7:00 AM start time
  • Must have a reliable vehicle
