To achieve excellence in preventative and reactive maintenance programs incorporating industry best practice, innovative maintenance techniques and statutory and contractual compliance. Undertake the day-to-day management and control of all plant, mechanical and electrical systems and co-ordinate the remedial action in the event of critical incidents. To provide supervision to multi skilled engineering maintenance partners. Ensure that all staff and vendors employed within the client’s facilities strictly adhere to client and JLL’s policies and procedures. Reports to the Technical Manager. The Engineer apply practical technical knowledge learned through experience and training in executing the day-to-day technical facilities management operations and maintenance related to building assets. This includes infrastructure, equipment, machinery and interior/exterior building elements.
Job Responsibility:
Operate, trouble shoot, repair, and improve functioning/availability of machinery, equipment and building infrastructure
Execute and/or supervise preventive and reactive maintenance work
Conduct facilities/equipment/machinery/safety inspections for compliance with government regulations and established client/JLL standards
Provide input to and manage expenditures within operating budgets
May participate in the procurement process
Develop, adapt and follow procedures, practices and processes to ensure highest level of client service delivery and client satisfaction
Foster positive day-to-day interactions with clients/customers, and other stakeholders (e.g. vendors/suppliers)
Facilitate training of Technical Operations employees to ensure consistent level of service delivery and to ensure compliance with applicable government laws and regulations
Promote a continuous improvement culture and safe working environment
Identify, assess and control risks (i.e. safety, environmental, operational)
Respond to emergency situations in relation to facilities/equipment/machinery, ensuring all appropriate internal and external emergency services resources are employed
May lead operations team(s), oversee their activities and provide input to people management decisions
May, train and develop employees
Requirements:
Degree Qualifications in a mechanical, electrical or operational engineering discipline
3 - 4 years of relevant experience in engineering or critical environment space
1 – 2 years’ experience in the operation of electrical and mechanical services in Tier III or equivalent data centre or critical facility
Critical environment experience within similar sized site or operation
Experienced with continuous improvement initiatives and preparation of reports
