Job Description

TAG Group is seeking an M&A Analyst to support acquisition activities across its portfolio of software companies in Latin America. The role involves financial analysis, valuation modeling, support in due diligence processes, and preparation of investment materials. This position is ideal for early-career finance professionals looking to gain hands-on transaction experience in a fast-growing, entrepreneurial software acquisition environment.

Job Responsibility

  • Build and maintain financial models, including DCF, trading comparables, transaction comparables, and scenario analyses
  • Support deal sourcing efforts through industry research, vertical software market mapping, and identification of qualified acquisition targets
  • Prepare investment memos, management presentations, and supporting materials for leadership review
  • Conduct comprehensive financial, commercial, and operational due diligence on potential acquisitions
  • Analyze historical financial statements, forecast assumptions, KPIs, and customer metrics
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams across finance, operations, technology, and legal throughout the diligence process
  • Track portfolio and pipeline metrics, manage data rooms, and monitor transaction timelines
  • Perform market and competitor analysis to assess industry trends, risks, and growth opportunities
  • Maintain CRM data and internal acquisition tracking tools to support pipeline management
  • Contribute to continuous process improvements, documentation, and best practices within the M&A function

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Business Administration, or a related field
  • 2–3 years of experience in Investment Banking, Corporate Finance, M&A, Private Equity, Consulting, or a similar analytical role
  • Strong financial analysis, modeling, and valuation skills
  • High proficiency in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint
  • Excellent attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills in English and Portuguese
  • Ability to perform effectively in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment
  • Intellectual curiosity about vertical market software businesses and long-term investing

Nice to have

  • Spanish is a strong plus
  • Hands-on experience with financial modeling, including DCF, comparables, and sensitivity analysis
  • Familiarity with CRM platforms (e.g., Salesforce)
  • Understanding of SaaS metrics and software-focused due diligence processes
  • Experience conducting market research and competitive analysis
  • Strong problem-solving, critical thinking, and analytical capabilities
  • Interest in long-term career development within M&A, corporate development, or strategic finance
