Job Responsibility

  • Manage the financial due diligence process by overseeing external advisors and analyzing data to verify a target company’s financial health and provide the Corporate Development team with insights that inform deal negotiations
  • Perform ASC 805 Accounting, from initial purchase price calculation and fair value allocation with external specialists to general ledger recording and the completion of the technical accounting memo
  • Review the target’s accounting practices for GAAP compliance and ensure alignment with Palo Alto Networks' policies during integration
  • Project manage accounting and finance integration across global workstreams (R2R, Payroll, Q2C, and P2P) to ensure seamless integration, keeping cross-functional teams on track with timelines and preparing regular status updates to leadership
  • Standardize M&A accounting and integration processes to build a scalable framework that enhances efficiency for future acquisitions

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience in a core business function at a publicly-held technology company (MBA preferred, but not required)
  • CPA or equivalent a plus with 6+ years of a combination of Big 4 and relevant industry experience with a demonstrated ability to understand financial and technology drivers and to deliver results in fast-paced SaaS and Technology companies
  • Strong foundational knowledge of US GAAP, specifically ASC 805, with the ability to apply technical accounting principles to complex M&A transactions and integration scenarios
  • Experience executing people-centric acquisition strategies that prioritize transparent communication and tailored transition support to ensure a positive experience for all impacted teams
  • Ability to manage projects across multiple functional areas, influencing stakeholders and driving results
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Demonstrated ability to translate high-level objectives into actionable plans, delivering measurable results through direct involvement in project execution
  • Demonstrates a proactive approach to professional development and process innovation, applying critical analysis to challenge the status quo
