Job Description

Upholds the Vision, Mission, and Core Values of the company. The Delivery Driver’s primary focus duties will include but are not limited to loading and unloading materials or rental equipment and delivering and/or picking up commercial and residential customers. Maintain exceptional customer service, maintain the upkeep of company vehicles, and/or inspect rental equipment. CDL is not required.

Job Responsibility

  • Ensure each customer receives outstanding service which follows the S.A.L.E.S process and the mystery shop standards
  • Loading product from the barn and cull area
  • Verifying product from loading ticket
  • Noting all paperwork is correct and noting damage or discrepancies
  • Maintain accurate delivery and pick-up records
  • Secure customer signature on rental contracts
  • Unload trucks and verifying correct items are according to packing slips
  • Communicate with the Warehouse or Rental Manager as needed and follow instructions as required
  • Complete orders on a truck and additional equipment
  • Checklist on pickup inventory
  • Safely Load and unload products or equipment along with delivering and picking up products or equipment
  • Observe all state and local driving laws as well as company policies and procedures
  • Perform daily pre- and post-trip safety inspections on all equipment and follow up with the Warehouse or Rental Manager on any deficits
  • Maintain a clean working environment and Keep vehicles clean free of debris (interior and exterior)
  • Communicate with customers via phone to schedule deliveries
  • Deliver merchandise with care
  • Demonstrate excellent customer service to our customers and co-workers
  • Operate a box van, pickup truck, or other assigned vehicle in a safe and courteous manner
  • Maintain knowledge of the geography and demographics of the area and surrounding areas
  • Instruct customers on equipment operation
  • Start equipment for customers
  • Adhere to Safety guidelines per company policy and OSHA
  • Assist with receiving, checking in, and stocking of items in the lumber yard
  • Assist customers with rental contracts
  • Operate a forklift with proper training
  • Operate a propane tank with proper training
  • Participate in store huddles

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Possess a valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record following the company’s insurance carrier’s standards
  • Must be able to pass a pre-employment drug test
  • Possess a working knowledge of rental equipment along with a willingness to learn
  • Possess a working knowledge of hardware retail experience
  • Ability and willingness to work flexible hours including weekends and holidays to meet the needs of the business
  • A minimum of 30 hours of continuing education directly related to this position is required annually
