Job Description:

LPN position at Atrium Health Carmel Family Medicine. Provides care pertinent to the scope of nursing practice in an office setting. Includes clinical and administrative duties supporting providers and patients.

Job Responsibility:

  • Demonstrates knowledge and skills to provide appropriate patient care
  • Accurately documents all patient care in medical record
  • Participates in telephone triage
  • Tracks and logs ordered laboratory and diagnostic tests
  • Pre-visit planning with provider and care team
  • Medication administration, including injections
  • Check vital signs, height, weight
  • Assist with reviewing medication history
  • May assist with health maintenance requirements
  • Assists providers during procedures and examinations
  • Utilizes standard precautions
  • Reports patient's condition and reaction to provider
  • Assists with patient inquiries for prescription refills, appointment scheduling, and referral authorization
  • Participates in electronic documentation of care
  • May enter orders in EMR
  • Completes CLIA approved waived laboratory tests and Point of Care testing
  • Performs venipuncture
  • May assist with collection of specimens
  • Provides patient with Depart Summary and review
  • Responsible for vaccine and pharmaceutical orders and inventory

Requirements:

  • Licensed Practical Nurse with current license to practice in applicable state
  • Must speak, read, and write Basic English fluently
  • Intact senses of sight, hearing, smell, and touch
  • Manual finger dexterity
  • Ability to lift and support 35 pounds
