Job Description

Provides safe efficient age specific nursing care to patients/families using the nursing process in order to assist them to attain, maintain, regain, and sustain optimal health status. This position is located in the Streetsboro clinic.

Job Responsibility

  • Functions in accordance with the professional standards of the Ohio board of nursing
  • Completes/submits required documentation
  • Delivers effective relationship based nursing care
  • Demonstrates technical skills in care delivery that result in safe practice and positive care outcomes
  • Demonstrates clear communication and effective collaboration to optimize patient care and clinical operations

  • Complies with all policies and standards
  • Must abide by all requirements to safely and securely maintain Protected Health Information (PHI) for our patients

Requirements

  • Other Accredited Program: Completion of accredited practical nurse program or currently enrolled in a nursing program. (Required)
  • 2+ years Nursing Experience (Level II only) (Required)
  • 1 year of Nursing experince preferred
  • Knowledge of LPN scope of practice according to the Ohio board of nursing. (Required proficiency)
  • Uses a wide variety of technical equipment to meet patient needs and prescribed clinical therapies (ie. stethoscopes, thermometers, sphygmomanometers and electronic monitoring devices) (Required proficiency)
  • Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN), Ohio and/or Multi State Compact License (Required Upon Hire)
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) (Required Upon Hire) or must be obtained during nursing orientation
  • Level II Only: 18 CNE’s per year. • 3 CNE’s in clinical specialty • At least 5 CNE’s in Leadership • Other CNE requirements will be agreed upon with manager
  • Level II Only: • 3 Peer Reviews. • Committee Involvement. • 5 criteria with evidence of each

  • Administers routine medications, under Physician/ APC orders or medical group approved standing orders/protocols, which may include but are not limited to immunizations, antibiotics, vitamins, and topical agents
  • Follows through with necessary procedure or test requests, pre-approved care algorithms, new appointment times and referrals to other facilities or services. Refers questions to Registered Nurses and Physician/APC per scope of practice guidelines and relays information back to patient as directed
  • Communicates with Physician/APC and other members of the health care team to ensure smooth clinic flow and adjusts as necessary. Effectively communicates accurate and timely information with the patient
  • May perform basic and advanced clinical support tasks or skills based on the specialty and appropriate competencies such as but not limited to removal of sutures and staples, laboratory procedures (throat/nose culture, drug screen), phlebotomy - butterfly, venous heel stick, EKG, spirometry, Holter monitor application, prescription refills using approved protocols, etc., under clinical supervision
