Job Description:

LPN Ambulatory position at Atrium Health Behavioral Health Charlotte Therapy Support Services. Full-time day position in an outpatient medical clinic for Behavioral Health serving adult and child populations.

Job Responsibility:

  • Demonstrates knowledge and skills to provide care for patients
  • Documents all patient care/interactions in medical record
  • Participates in telephone triage
  • Tracks and logs ordered laboratory and diagnostic tests
  • Pre-visit planning with provider and care team
  • Medication administration, including injections
  • Check vital signs, height, weight
  • Assist with reviewing medication history
  • May assist with health maintenance requirements
  • Assists providers during procedures and examinations
  • Utilizes standard precautions
  • Reports patient's condition and reaction to provider
  • Assists with patient inquiries for prescription refills, appointment scheduling, and referral authorization
  • Participates in electronic documentation of care
  • May enter orders in EMR
  • Completes CLIA approved waived laboratory tests and diagnostic testing
  • Performs venipuncture
  • May assist with collection of specimens
  • Provides patient with Depart Summary and review
  • Responsible for vaccine and pharmaceutical orders and monitoring inventory

Requirements:

  • Licensed Practical Nurse with current license to practice in applicable state (dependent on the practice's physical location)
  • Graduate of an Accredited School of practical nursing
  • BLS required per policy guidelines
  • Previous medical office experience preferred
  • Must speak, read, and write Basic English fluently
  • Intact senses of sight, hearing, smell, and touch
  • Manual finger dexterity
  • Ability to lift and support 35 pounds
