Job Description

We are looking for a hands-on Low Voltage Technician to support commercial projects. This contract opportunity with potential for a permanent role is ideal for someone who can install and service structured cabling and electronic security systems with accuracy and professionalism. The position involves field-based work across active job sites, partnering with technical teams to deliver reliable connectivity and device performance.

Job Responsibility

  • Install and route low-voltage cabling, including Cat5e, Cat6, and fiber runs, throughout commercial facilities
  • Terminate cables and complete connections for patch panels, jacks, and related network components
  • Test, label, and troubleshoot cabling infrastructure to verify signal integrity and proper system operation
  • Deploy and support surveillance equipment, including cameras and associated low-voltage hardware
  • Install and service access control components such as badge readers, door controllers, and connected devices
  • Mount sensors, panels, and other field equipment while maintaining clean, organized, and safe work areas
  • Review blueprints and technical drawings to determine cable pathways, device placement, and installation requirements
  • Work closely with project leadership and cross-functional site teams to keep installations aligned with project goals and industry standards

Requirements

  • Hands-on experience with network cabling, cable installation, and low-voltage infrastructure work
  • Working knowledge of Cat5e, Cat6, and fiber-optic cabling methods, including pulling, terminating, and testing
  • Ability to install and troubleshoot security-related systems such as cameras and access control equipment
  • Familiarity with reading blueprints, wiring diagrams, and technical documentation for commercial projects
  • Understanding of industry safety practices and quality standards for structured cabling installations
  • Strong troubleshooting skills with the ability to identify and resolve connectivity or device issues in the field
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with project managers, electricians, and IT support teams on active job sites
