We’re seeking a skilled Low Voltage Cable Technician to install, test, and maintain low-voltage systems in commercial and industrial environments. This role is hands-on and field-based, supporting structured cabling, security, access control, and audiovisual systems. The ideal candidate takes pride in clean installs, accurate documentation, and reliable troubleshooting.
Job Responsibility:
Install, terminate, label, and test low-voltage cabling (Cat5e, Cat6, fiber)
Pull and route cable through ceilings, walls, conduits, and cable trays
Terminate and test cables at patch panels, racks, jacks, and network equipment
Install and support systems including: Data and voice networks
Surveillance cameras (CCTV)
Access control systems
Audio/visual and conference room systems
Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and floor plans
Use cable testing tools to verify performance and connectivity
Troubleshoot cabling and connectivity issues
Maintain clean, organized, and code-compliant installations
Follow safety procedures and job-site protocols
Document work completed and report issues to project managers
Requirements:
1–5+ years of experience as a Low Voltage Cable Technician (or similar role)
Hands-on experience with structured cabling installations
Familiarity with Cat5e/Cat6 termination standards (T568A/B)
Experience working on ladders, lifts, and in ceiling spaces
Ability to read basic blueprints and cable layouts
Strong troubleshooting and attention to detail
Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation
Nice to have:
Experience with fiber optic cabling (termination/testing)
Certifications such as BICSI, CTS, or manufacturer training
Experience with access control, CCTV, or AV systems
