Job Description:

The Smart Homes Low Voltage Automation Senior Installer will install and maintain advanced automation and A/V systems throughout Michigan. Qualified applicants will be experienced in the installation, troubleshooting, and service of low voltage residential audio, video, telephone, and lighting systems. Perform comprehensive, on-site audio/visual equipment installation for our clients, including low voltage wiring, trim-out, equipment rack setup, satellite, telephone systems, plasma/LCD, projectors and projection systems, media rooms, audio hardware and speakers, control systems, and some programming based on experience and other tasks as related to an install.

Job Responsibility:

  • Understand programs for A/V and automation equipment
  • Installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of data communications equipment as required when commissioning projects
  • Update code and test systems when new releases are required
  • Ability to lead a team of installation technicians
  • Maintain accurate records of time and materials required to perform service
  • Follow established safety procedures and techniques to perform job duties

Requirements:

  • Training and knowledge in low voltage control systems
  • Previous customer support and Automation / A/V experience
  • A minimum of 3 to 5 years of commercial and residential audio, video and videoconferencing systems along with general wiring, rack building, general & specific assembly, hands-on, electronic testing skills required
  • Experience in programming in Crestron, Control4, AMX, Savant and/or Lutron products
  • Strong computer skills
  • Strong interpersonal skills for communicating with clients and colleagues
  • Strong work ethic, trustworthy and dependable
  • Strong attention to detail with the ability to work effectively and efficiently alone or with a team to meet deadlines
  • Verifiable references
  • Must have a valid driver’s license and able to pass a background check

Nice to have:

  • Project management and design skills are a plus as well as experience with Crestron, AMX and Control 4
  • Specific certifications from automation vendors a plus but not required
