Job Description:

Smart Homes designs, installs and services seamlessly integrated Computer, Network, Lighting, Security, HVAC control and A/V systems for homes and businesses. In this position, you will design, develop, program, install and train customers on advanced automation and A/V systems throughout Michigan.

Job Responsibility:

  • Design, develop, program, install and upgrade A/V and automation equipment
  • Install low voltage cabling and distribution hardware
  • Program, configure and test TCIP and low voltage networks
  • Diagnose, troubleshoot and repair equipment, including A/V equipment and automation equipment
  • Service equipment according to maintenance schedule
  • Maintain accurate records of time and materials required to perform repairs
  • Design, develop, program, install and train customers on advanced automation and A/V systems throughout Michigan

Requirements:

  • Advanced training and knowledge in low voltage control systems and system requirements
  • Strong verbal and written communications skills
  • Demonstrated ability to organize and manage multiple tasks and timelines in a team setting
  • An independent thinker and a team player, innovative, willing to try new things, flexible
  • Ability to develop unique and innovative solutions for screen designs, hardware integration, engineering solutions and programming for automation projects
  • Customer support and Automation / A/V experience
  • Two years of work experience installing, maintaining and repairing low voltage control, distribution and integration systems
  • Knowledge of A/V hardware and software obtained from factory level training
  • Crestron, Control4, Savant, Lutron, Vantage, and RTI experience and factory certification
  • Excellent skills with hand tools and equipment to complete these job activities
  • Computer skills including MAC and PC experience required
  • Ability to determine formats, approaches, content, levels and mediums to effectively meet objectives within budgetary constraints, utilizing research, knowledge and training
  • Ability to develop manuals, texts, workbooks or related materials for use in conjunction with training of customers
  • Valid driver’s license
