The Low Voltage Technician (LVT1) ensures that all safety programs, policies, and procedures are being adhered to. Plans, organizes, and manages the installation, maintenance, and repair of low voltage systems to operate efficiently and safely. Inspect work in progress to ensure that workmanship conforms to specifications and adherence to construction schedules. Oversees construction crews and will help with construction.
Job Responsibility:
Collaborate with a team of low voltage technicians
Install, repair, and maintain various low voltage systems, including commercial and industrial refrigeration unit
Collaborate with the engineering and maintenance departments to develop preventive maintenance schedules and strategies to optimize system performance and reduce downtime
Install and support fire alarm systems including fire alarm control panels (FACP), initiating devices, notification appliances, power supplies, and networked fire alarm components
Perform device mounting, conductor routing, labeling, and termination of low-voltage cabling in compliance with code and project specifications
Conduct regular inspections of low voltage work, identifying and addressing potential issues to prevent system failures and ensure compliance with safety and environmental regulations
Testing and troubleshooting low voltage systems to ensure proper functioning
Maintain accurate records of work performed, equipment maintenance schedules, and inventory of spare parts and supplies
Ensure compliance with industry standards, codes, and regulations in all low voltage-related activities
Diagnose and resolve fire alarm system issues including ground faults, device failures, communication errors, and programming discrepancies
Perform system repairs and corrective actions to restore full operational compliance
Coordinate with vendors and suppliers to procure necessary equipment, parts, and supplies for projects
Maintain a safe work environment by enforcing proper safety procedures and protocols
Prepare and submit regular reports on the status of low voltage projects, maintenance activities, and team performance to upper management
Requirements:
High school diploma or equivalent is required
Additional technical certifications in a low voltage related field preferred
Proven experience (2+ years) as a Low Voltage Technician or similar role
In-depth knowledge of low voltage systems, including installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair
Ability to work with CCTV, Access control and other low voltage platforms
Demonstrates leadership, integrity, perseverance, reliability, respect, and self-discipline
Demonstrates personal motivation, initiative, and potential for growth
Must be able to effectively collaborate with the project team to plan and accomplish goals
Willingness to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and on-call rotations
Valid driver's license and reliable means of transportation

NICET Level I – IV if possible
BICSI & ETA Certs if possible
