Job Description:

As a Loss Prevention Officer at JW Marriott, you will be responsible for maintaining a safe environment for guests and associates by patrolling the property, monitoring security systems, conducting inspections, handling emergencies, and ensuring compliance with company policies. You will contribute to creating a welcoming and professional atmosphere at JW Marriott locations globally, while promoting safety and well-being.

Job Responsibility:

  • Patrolling all areas of the property
  • Assisting guests with room access
  • Monitoring CCTV and security systems
  • Conducting daily physical hazard inspections
  • Responding to accidents, contacting EMS, administering first aid/CPR as required
  • Assisting guests/employees during emergency situations
  • Notifying appropriate individuals of incidents
  • Defusing guest/employee disturbances
  • Escorting unwelcome persons from the property
  • Reporting vehicle accidents/thefts
  • Completing incident reports for Security/Loss Prevention incidents
  • Resolving safety hazard situations
  • Conducting investigations, gathering evidence, and interviewing relevant parties
  • Preparing and reviewing written documents accurately
  • Developing positive working relationships with team members
  • Complying with quality assurance expectations and standards.

Requirements:

  • High school diploma or G.E.D. equivalent
  • No related work experience
  • No supervisory experience
  • May require additional licensing/registration depending on state
  • Ability to move, lift, carry, push, pull, and place objects weighing less than or equal to 50 pounds without assistance
  • Capable of moving objects weighing in excess of 75 pounds with assistance
  • Ability to move through narrow, confined, or elevated spaces
  • Physically capable of standing, sitting, and walking for extended periods or entire shifts
  • Proficient in reading and verifying small print
  • Ability to handle interruptions and complaints
  • Knowledge of safety training and certifications
  • Adherence to company policies and uniform standards
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to inspect tools, equipment, or machines to identify defects
  • Ability to enter and locate work-related information using computers and/or point of sale systems
  • Ability to move over sloping, uneven, or slippery surfaces as well as up and down stairs and/or service ramps.
