Job Description

Build longwall teams for a world-class operation set to deliver its first longwall coal in early 2026. Be part of a bold ambition to be the best coal mine in the world with a 20+ year mine life, world-class equipment, and a safety-first culture.

Job Responsibility

  • Perform inspections, maintenance, repairs and overhauls on longwall equipment, including shearers, AFCs, BSLs, and hydraulic roof supports
  • Assist with the installation and removal of longwall systems during panel moves
  • Maintain and troubleshoot complex hydraulic systems
  • Diagnose mechanical faults and implement practical solutions to minimise downtime
  • Work closely with the wider team, including electricians, engineers and operators, to ensure seamless performance
  • Maintain service records and log issues or repairs for equipment history and compliance
  • Ensure compliance with all statutory and regulatory requirements and all Peabody and Centurion site policies and procedures

Requirements

  • Australian recognised Mechanical Trade Certificate
  • Proven experience with longwall systems in an underground coal mine
