Airbus Commercial Aircraft is looking for a Long-term Intern to join our Tax Accounting Team based in Herndon, VA. During your internship at Airbus, you will be exposed to tax return preparation, tax research, tax planning, and the preparation of supporting workpapers on various tax returns and projects. The position will require strong organizational skills and attention to detail. You will have the opportunity to work alongside, Senior Managers, Managers, and peers as a member of the team. Additionally, you will have an opportunity to learn new skills, be involved in office community activities, and establish relationships with members of the Airbus team. This is a year-round internship requiring 25-30 hours per week (Hybrid work arrangement).
Job Responsibility:
Tracking and day-to-day management of federal, state, and local tax notices
Communicating verbally and in writing with representatives of various tax jurisdictions
Analyzing data to support positions taken on the tax return
Prepares tax provision calculation in accordance with ASC 740
Assist/prepare Federal and state returns for domestic C Corps and foreign entities
Research tax issues on research websites such as CCH
Analyze and reconcile general ledger income tax accounts
Assist/prepare estimates, extensions, and annual reports
Assist/prepare various other analysis and miscellaneous filings for all U.S. entities
Assisting in responding to state and local audit information requests
Opportunity to assist other tax areas with compliance and special projects thus allowing exposure to other areas of tax
Requirements:
Must be currently located in the DC Metro/Northern Virginia area and able to work onsite in Herndon, VA
Required to be currently enrolled in a Bachelor or Graduate degree program from an accredited university with a plan to major in Accounting or Tax
Completion of the first 2 years of a Bachelor's degree in related field from an accredited university are required
Intermediate digital literacy in MS Office applications (Word, Excel, Outlook)
Desire to work in a fast-paced environment
Demonstrates strong communication skills, both verbal and written
Ability to work well, independently and within a team environment
Curious personality with a desire to understand "how things work" and "how to improve processes"
Authorized to legally work in the United States without visa sponsorship, required
Ability to work in the US without current, or future, need of visa sponsorship/work authorization is required for this position
Nice to have:
Previous Airbus internship experience, highly preferred
