As a train driver, you are responsible for ensuring our passengers and trains travel safely and on time throughout Germany. This is a career change opportunity (Quereinstieg) at DB Fernverkehr AG in Frankfurt am Main. The qualification takes about 12 months in full-time, combining theoretical and practical training. After the first few professional years, there are internal further qualification opportunities (e.g., as a trainer or dispatcher).
Job Responsibility:
Steer trains with over 10,000 hp on various routes within Germany
Adhere to applicable guidelines and instructions in daily work, considering economic and ecological aspects
Handle irregularities or disruptions in operations responsibly
Ensure smooth communication with colleagues and other interfaces
Monitor and, if necessary, perform control and maintenance work
Requirements:
Successfully completed vocational training, ideally in a technical field (e.g., electrician, mechanic, mechatronics technician)
or a completed university degree
or several years of experience as a commercial pilot
Minimum age of 20 at the start of the qualification
Strong customer orientation
Familiarity with working with digital media (e.g., tablet, smartphone)
Willingness for irregular shift and alternating duty as well as occasional overnight stays away from home
Fluent German language skills in speech and writing
