Fugro in Belgium offer specialized consultancy and engineering services in both land and marine environments. We are currently seeking a dynamic and motivated Warehouse/Logistics Operator. The successful candidate will join our Geotechnical Laboratory in Louvain-La-Neuve and will support its day-to-day tasks, liaising with other Fugro departments, offices and external clients. As Warehouse/Logistics Operator, you will assist in the process of receipt, storage, dispatch and disposal of samples and occasionally equipment into and from the Wallingford Marine Geotechnics warehouses. To undertake other general tasks as directed and to follow the laid down safe working practices.
Job Responsibility:
Follow laid down company safety practices
Assist in the receipt of samples and other goods from couriers transporting them from site
Unload samples and goods to a quarantine area or other appropriate location
Check that the delivered samples and goods match any accompanying paperwork
Transfer samples and goods to/from storage locations in the warehouse and to keep a record of what is stored where
Sorting and putting samples out for laboratory testing
Assisting in the shipping of samples or equipment to vessels, clients, other laboratories, or other Fugro Opco’s, including the sorting / separating of sample bags for chemical testing, sending of empty crates and boxes and ordering new geo-boxes and other warehouse equipment / consumables such as sample bags as required
Preparation of samples to be batched, place sample in drying ovens completing required documentation and labelling and updating project spread sheets
Requirements:
You hold a bachelor's degree, or at least a CESS degree
Ideally, you have hands‑on experience in a similar role
You are fluent in English and French, Dutch is a plus
You are organized, structured, and able to manage priorities effectively
You demonstrate flexibility and adaptability in your daily work
You manage stress effectively and remain composed in a fast‑paced environment
You are proficient in Office tools, especially Excel, Word and PowerPoint
You have a strong eye for detail
You are a good team player
