Reporting to the Senior Manager, Outbound Logistics, based in Deerfield, IL, the Logistics Specialist supports outbound logistics strategies, identifies cost and service improvement initiatives, and assists with daily outbound logistics operations across FBIN’s distribution center (DC) network. This role supports Moen, Master Lock, Emtek, and House of Rohl. The Logistics Specialist will focus on network performance, freight cost management, service optimization, and continuous improvement. This individual will leverage logistics and business expertise to partner cross-functionally while also working independently to identify and deliver value-added opportunities.

Job Responsibility:

  • Function as the daily outbound operations support specialist for multiple business units across multiple transportation modes (Truckload, LTL, Parcel)
  • Collaborate cross-functionally to support all transportation needs, including participation in departmental projects and serve as a project participant for transportation initiatives
  • Identify continuous improvement opportunities for cost and service through data analysis and engagement with internal and external customers
  • Support transportation budget objectives by selecting cost-effective transportation solutions that meet customer service expectations
  • Troubleshoot and investigate outbound transportation issues to ensure seamless operations with internal and external logistics partners
  • Provide support for Transportation Management System (TMS) initiatives and enhancements within established timelines
  • Analyze freight spend by region, carrier, mode, and customer to identify trends and mitigate risk
  • Provide transportation expertise and system support to internal and external FBIN customers across logistics and distribution functions
  • Research and resolve transportation delivery and DC-related issues, maintaining proactive communication with internal stakeholders
  • Act as the primary point of contact for all outbound domestic transportation
  • Constructively challenge existing processes to drive cost savings and improve service levels for FBIN customers
  • Communicate effectively with sales, operations, distribution, and customer service concerning logistics processes and procedures
  • Provide transportation expertise and system support on various projects to eliminate non-value-added processes, cost savings opportunities, and collaboration with other FBIN departments

Requirements:

  • Minimum of 3 years of logistics experience
  • Bilingual in English and Spanish
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent professional experience
  • Knowledge of cross-border shipping (U.S.–Mexico and U.S.–Canada)
  • Strong analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to multitask and prioritize in a fast-paced environment
  • Comfortable working through ambiguity and driving solutions
  • Demonstrated ability to lead and support change initiatives
  • Ability to make independent decisions aligned with FBIN operational standards and goals
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word)

Nice to have:

  • ERP system experience (Oracle or SAP preferred)
  • Transportation Management System experience (MercuryGate or Oracle OTM preferred)
