Job Description:

We are looking for a Logistics/Scale Clerk to support daily shipping and receiving operations for a busy organization in Columbus, Ohio. This Long-term Contract position is ideal for someone who is comfortable balancing administrative tasks with site-based coordination, including truck scale activity and front-line customer support. The right candidate will be organized, dependable, and able to work independently in a trailer office environment while maintaining accurate records and clear communication throughout the day.

Job Responsibility:

  • Record inbound and outbound truck weights with precision and ensure scale transactions are completed correctly
  • Enter operational and numerical information into company systems while maintaining a high level of accuracy
  • Respond to incoming phone calls promptly and provide helpful, attentive assistance to drivers, customers, and internal contacts
  • Support day-to-day customer service needs by answering questions and directing inquiries to the appropriate personnel
  • Handle general clerical duties such as document processing, filing, and other administrative support tasks as needed
  • Work independently in an on-site trailer office and manage assigned responsibilities with minimal supervision
  • Maintain organized records related to logistics activity and help keep office workflows running smoothly

Requirements:

  • At least 2 years of experience in logistics, clerical support, or a related office-based role
  • Previous experience with data entry, including accurate input of numerical information
  • Strong verbal communication skills and confidence in handling inbound calls professionally
  • Demonstrated customer service skills with the ability to interact effectively with a variety of individuals
  • Ability to ensure accuracy when processing truck weights, records, and routine administrative tasks
  • Comfortable working in a trailer office setting and staying productive in a self-directed environment
  • Working knowledge of basic office procedures and general computer proficiency
