Job Responsibility
Manage the end-to-end life-cycle of national freight movements
Perform physical stock-on-hand checks to verify availability before finalising transport bookings
Create daily runs, allocate stock to specific vehicles, and secure third-party carrier bookings
Manage complex time-slot bookings with external carriers and Distribution Centers (DCs)
Oversee rail and container bookings, including the coordination of on-forwarding freight via strategic partners
Act as the primary contact for drivers, managing re-routing and communicating real-time schedule changes
Prepare all essential transit paperwork - including delivery dockets, manifests, invoices and manage digital POD uploads.
Requirements
Proven experience managing transport deadlines and the intricacies of national linehaul or LTL (Less Than Truckload) movements
Excel skills are essential for tracking inbound/outbound runs and maintaining accurate freight movement data
Familiarity with specialised inventory management systems is highly regarded. The main system used is Jaix, external 3PL / carrier portals and online platforms
A commitment to remaining on-site until the afternoon's dispatch operations are finalised
Exceptional interpersonal skills to effectively manage relationships with drivers, carriers, and internal stakeholders.
