We’re looking for a Logistics Manager to bring P.R.I.D.E. to our Supply Chain, Planning, Logistics team. The Logistics Specialist role exists to ensure the efficient and effective management of logistics operations within the company. The Logistics Specialist (Transportation) will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of transportation logistics, including coordinating with carriers, negotiating rates (along with procurement), and ensuring compliance with TMS procedures. This role requires strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment. The Logistics Specialist will also be the first point of contact for resolving transportation-related issues and improving processes.
Job Responsibility:
Transportation Coordination: Serve as the primary point of contact for carriers and transportation partners
Coordinate the onboarding of new carriers and assist in rate negotiations alongside procurement
Manage day-to-day transportation activities to ensure on-time and cost-effective delivery of goods
Compliance: Ensure carriers and third-party providers adhere to company policies, safety standards, and established transportation procedures
Maintain accurate documentation for all shipments and carrier agreements
Transportation Management System (TMS): Oversee the Transporeon TMS platform, including carrier setup, rate maintenance, and performance tracking
Ensure internal logistics team and carriers adhere to all TMS processes and reporting standards
Monitor system usage and data accuracy to support decision-making and compliance
Billing Oversight: Review and verify transportation invoices from carriers, customs brokers, and 3PLs to ensure billing accuracy
Collaborate with finance to resolve discrepancies and ensure timely payments
Process Improvement: Identify and implement process improvements to enhance logistics efficiency, accuracy, and service quality
Lead or participate in cross-functional projects to improve transportation workflows and cost performance
Vendor Management: Develop and maintain strong relationships with carriers and logistics providers
Evaluate carrier performance regularly and recommend corrective actions when necessary
Reporting: Prepare and analyze transportation performance reports, including key metrics such as cost, on-time delivery, and carrier performance
Present findings and recommendations to management for decision support
Cost Management: Identify and implement cost-saving opportunities within transportation and logistics operations
Track and manage logistics spend to ensure alignment with budget and business objectives
Risk Management: Serve as the escalation point for transportation-related issues, including delays or disruptions
Monitor potential risks such as port strikes, weather events, or carrier shortages and communicate impacts proactively
Develop and maintain contingency plans to mitigate transportation risks and ensure business continuity
Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or Operations Management preferred
Equivalent relevant experience and/or logistics certifications (e.g., CLTD, APICS, Lean Logistics) will be considered
3–5 years of experience in transportation or logistics coordination within a manufacturing, distribution, or 3PL environment
Experience managing carriers, 3PLs, or freight networks preferred
Proficiency in SAP and Transporeon (TMS) preferred
Strong Microsoft Excel skills for tracking, analysis, and reporting
Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities with attention to detail
