A Logistics Engineer, with mechanical engineering sensibilities, is responsible for designing and managing the Integrated Logistics Support Plan. This role will analyze and improve logistics strategies, optimize procedures, manage inventories, and maintain logistics-related reports.
Job Responsibility:
Develop, implement, and manage the Integrated Logistics Support Plan (ILSP) across the system's lifecycle
Conduct Logistics Support Analysis (LSA)
Oversee generation of technical documentation
Establish / lead team in initial provisioning plans, spares lists, and repair parts lists
Coordinate with procurement and engineering teams to identify long-lead time items
Develop and manage the inventory control system
Define and validate the system's Maintenance Concept
Develop Preventive Maintenance (PM) schedules and procedures
Coordinate support equipment (SE) requirements
Determine Manpower and Personnel (M&P) requirements
Define and support the development of logistics and maintenance training programs
Track and report on key logistics metrics
Utilize logistics modeling and simulation tools
Designing and implementing supply chain networks
Developing logistic plans and strategies
Analyzing data to understand and improve the logistic processes
Evaluating vendor operations
Coordinating and planning warehouse, distribution and transportation operations
Developing risk management programs
Collaborating with other departments to integrate logistics with business processes
Developing procedures for logistics management
Using software systems for scheduling and tracking shipments
Ensuring compliance with laws, regulations, and ISO requirements
Requirements:
B.S. degree in Logistics, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Supply Chain Management or relevant field
10+ years performing as logistics engineer
Proven experience as a Logistics Engineer or similar role
Knowledge of logistics systems, practices, and procedures
Proficient in data analysis and logistics software
Strong problem-solving, organizational, and decision-making skills
Excellent communication and presentation abilities
Understanding of safety regulations and legal guidelines
Familiarization with Federal Government supply systems
Understanding of military maintenance levels
Eligible for up to TS/SCI (U.S. Citizenship required)
Ability to travel as required
