Job Description

We are looking for a skilled Logistics Data Analyst to join our team in Hillside, New Jersey. In this Contract-to-permanent position, you will play a key role in analyzing logistics data, creating actionable insights, and driving process improvements to optimize operations. Ideal candidates are analytical thinkers with expertise in data management tools and a passion for enhancing logistics efficiency.

Job Responsibility

  • Collect, clean, and analyze logistics data from multiple sources to uncover trends and areas for improvement
  • Develop and maintain dashboards, reports, and presentations to effectively communicate findings to stakeholders
  • Implement strategies to enhance logistics processes and efficiency based on data-driven insights
  • Define and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure operational success
  • Collaborate with teams across logistics, finance, and IT to support informed decision-making
  • Utilize forecasting techniques to predict logistics trends and support strategic planning, including container budgeting based on units
  • Manage and optimize databases to ensure data integrity and accessibility
  • Perform ad-hoc analyses to address specific projects and initiatives
  • Consolidate historical cost and rate information into an organized database for reference

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Data Science, or a related field
  • 2+ years of experience in data analysis, preferably within a logistics or business context
  • Proficiency in data analysis tools (e.g., SQL, Excel, Power Query)
  • Proficiency in programming languages (Python, Excel VBA, etc)
  • Proficiency in data visualization software (e.g., Crystal Reports, Tableau, Power BI)
  • Strong knowledge of database queries, pivot tables, and advanced Excel functions
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong work ethic, self-starter, ability to work independently
  • High level of organization and attention to detail
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment
  • Strong work ethics and Teamwork attitude

Nice to have

  • Knowledge of ERP systems and data warehousing concepts
  • Familiarity with programming languages used in data analysis
