The Logistics Coordinator is responsible for the efficient and timely management of goods transport flows from suppliers to the company's warehouses. He/she ensures coordination between carriers, suppliers, and internal teams to guarantee reception in compliance with quality, cost, and deadline requirements. This role requires strong organizational skills, excellent communication with internal and external parties, as well as a good command of logistics management and shipment tracking tools.
Job Responsibility:
Contact carriers and negotiate the best possible rates
Assign the selected carrier and forward all specific information
Track shipments until destination
Track evening and weekend shipments
Work jointly with the sales, purchasing, and accounting departments
Be comfortable with various websites: maritime or others
Perform all other related tasks requested by the immediate supervisor and purchasing/buying team
Requirements:
Minimum of 3 years of relevant experience in a similar position
Experience in transport brokerage is essential
Experience in road, maritime, and air transport
Strong aptitudes for negotiating transport costs
Excellent sense of customer service, tact, and diplomacy
Sense of organization and good management of priorities
French-English bilingualism, both written and oral
Good computer knowledge and ease of learning new software
Excellent North American geographical knowledge
Be available to respond to carriers in the evening and on weekends
Nice to have:
Spanish is an asset
