Parrish & Heimbecker, Limited (P&H) has an opportunity for a motivated, forward-thinking, and dedicated individual as a Logistics Coordinator based on-site at our Guelph, ON office. The successful candidate will be responsible for coordinating the shipping and movement of commodities by truck/rail in the most efficient manner while expediting the execution of contractual commitments.
Job Responsibility:
Ensure precise execution of contractual commitments
Run outstanding contract reports and manage monthly purchase/sales movement
Communicate with external customers to discuss and assess shipping/scheduling needs
Determine and select the most economical freight supplier for movement by truck/rail
Carry out various administrative components related to freight including, but not limited to, collection of tickets, approving freight bills, following up on shipments, creating Bill of Landing, managing unused Bill of Landing & generating contract reports
Process freight invoices and maintain freight accruals
Negotiate competitive freight rates and schedules
Research market rates for appropriate geographical areas and destinations
Work with the merchant team to determine rate structures requirements to maximize both sales margin and volume
Generate monthly rate analysis reports
Requirements:
Minimum 2 years of experience in logistics or supply chain
Knowledge of the agricultural industry is considered an asset
Excellent customer service and strong negotiation and communication skills
Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Outlook, and high proficiency in Excel)
Attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines
Maintain current expertise in trading documents, trade execution and payment terms
